Rocky Mountain Boston Terrier Club Code of Ethics

1.

Abide by the By-Laws and Constitution of the Rocky Mountain Boston Terrier Club and abide by all rules set forth by the Boston Terrier Club of American and the American Kennel Club.

2.
Maintain the best possible standard of health, cleanliness and care of my dogs and keep the welfare of my dogs first and foremost when exhibiting my dogs at any event.

3.
Refuse to sell any dog, including puppies, and/or litters to pet shops, brokers, wholesalers, or retailers, or reseller of dogs who, for the sake of only making money would buy such dogs.

4.
Refuse to sell any dog to any buyer where I have any reason to believe that the puppy or dog will not be properly cared for.

5.
At all times, whether at home, traveling, at shows, or at motels, on behalf of any dog or kennel club events, display good sportsmanship, and conduct myself in such a manner as to reflect credit upon the Rocky Mountain Boston Terrier Club and the Boston Terrier Breed.

6.
Refrain from unnecessary and unconstructive criticism of another’s dog and from personal attacks upon fellow members.

7.
Not use the club or being an officer of the club for my own personal gain.

8.
Support all my fellow members and their dogs whenever the need may arise.

9.
Provide assistance to anyone who may show an interest in the Boston Terrier by educating him or her about the breed and it's needs.

10.
Breed only with the intention of improving the breed, planning each litter with this goal in mind based on the approved Boston Terrier Club of America Breed Standard, using parents of appropriate qualities, physical soundness, type, and temperament and refusing to offer stud service to or breed any bitch or dog that is not AKC registered or has obvious faults detrimental to the breed.

 11.
Consider proper placement of puppies I cannot keep before producing any litter and recognize that I have the responsibility to provide a life long interest in each puppy I place.

As a member of the Rocky Mountain Boston Terrier Club, I agree to abide by this Code of Ethics and understand that failure to do so may result in disciplinary action as deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors.
